I have a gorgeous place in St. Pete and a job teaching 7th grade at a middle school!!! I'm excited about the prospect of teaching younger kids and having the ability to do lots of cool things without too much resistance. Now all I need is the ring... <3 Current Music: Charmed | | Saturday, December 30th, 2006 | | 4:41 pm |
The New Year I'm excited about New Year's. Nick is coming down and we're going to a really nice dinner with my family and some friends. Then, we're going back to my parents' house and getting drunk. hehe Christmas with the Denmons was loads of fun. Nick bought me a couple books, and lotions from Victoria's Secret. His brother bought me the Josh Groban CD. We ate and ate and went to Midnight Mass, which was beautiful, but very uncomfortable since we were standing. Nick came here for a couple days during Hanukkah and bought me the most beautiful diamond heart necklace. I got him a shirt and sweater from Express, a necklace, and 2 DVDs that I gave him during Christmas.
I'm thorougly enjoying my break. I finished my lesson plans for the 2 weeks we get back, and made a quiz and some activities for the first few days. I still have to finish reading Great Expectations again so I can faciliate the Socratic Seminar the Friday we get back, and I have 3 books I want to start reading, including the 2 Nick bought me for Christmas. I am going to miss sleeping in and lounging around while everyone else is at work!
So, to everyone, happy holidays, and happy new year. Be safe and have fun!
My New Year Resolutions: *lose 5-10 pounds *eat healthier *continue working hard to be a better teacher *try not to be envious of others *continue to be a good friend *try to be more understanding *stop being such a nag *try to better separate the 'teacher' part of me when with people other then students *read more *start looking at what i need to do to get my doctorate

A quick update, and a quiz Ok, let's see... Work: Going great. I worked hard all week (with much-needed help from students getting volunteer hours) getting my room set up and the millions of other things that needed to get done. But it's done. I'm really excited about meeting my kids Monday, especially since some of them are siblings of my previous students! I'm nervous but excited about taking on 10th grade and dealing with the FCAT. I'm so happy I'm at the school that I am, because the faculty and staff are amazing. It's great not to be the newbie this year, and I'm helping out some of the newer teachers (there are a lot this year!). I also want to take a bigger role this year, helping out my team leader (we split up the department head duties by grade level) and volunteer for more leadership roles. I also got a raise! YAY. It's still not enough though. Love: Nick and I are doing really well. I went to Tampa last weekend and Nick took me to Clearwater beach. My sister met us up there and we had a blast with Nick's brother Chris and Chris's girlfriend Tyler, and Nick's best friend Brent and Brent's girlfriend Kim. It was a lot of fun. Clearwater is now my new favorite beach. Nick and Chris took Tyler and me to Disney last Sunday, and we had dinner at Cinderella's Castle. It was so good! We spent the entire day there and rode every ride except for the little kid rides. We even rode the Teacups and saw Minnie and Mickey's houses. We got some GREAT pictures! He continues to make me laugh. It sucks that he lives in Tampa but hopefully he'll be able to visit soon. Family: Doing well. Sam is home from summer break. She got straight A's!! We just went shopping today with my mom, and I got some of the cutest clothes!!!! I can't wait to show them off at work! hehe My parents are working hard, but the store is doing well. Tomorrow I'm going to brunch with my family and family friends. This weekend is my cousin's bar mitzvah. I'm excited because I'm going to see my aunt and cousin, whom I haven't seen in years. It'll be an interesting weekend!!
Ok, now the quiz. Thanks to Joanna for this. :) Old People Quiz
Tired of all of those surveys made by high school kids? "Have you ever kissed someone?" "Missed someone?" "Ever masturbate?" "Told someone you love them?" "Drank alcohol?"
Here are some questions for some people who are a little more mature... okay, old folks like us. 1. What bill do you hate paying the most? All of them. If I had to choose one, I'd say my main credit card bill.

i agree
A lot has been said about how to prevent rape. Women should learn self-defense. Women should lock themselves in their houses after dark. Women shouldn't have long hair and women shouldn't wear short skirts. Women shouldn't leave drinks unattended. Fuck, they shouldn't dare to get drunk at all. instead of that bullshit, how about: if a woman is drunk, don't rape her. if a woman is walking alone at night, don't rape her. if a women is drugged and unconscious, don't rape her. if a woman is wearing a short skirt, don't rape her. if a woman is jogging in a park at 5 am, don't rape her. if a woman looks like your ex-girlfriend you're still hung up on, don't rape her. if a woman is asleep in her bed, don't rape her. if a woman is asleep in your bed, don't rape her. if a woman is doing her laundry, don't rape her. if a woman is in a coma, don't rape her. if a woman changes her mind in the middle of or about a particular activity, don't rape her. if a woman has repeatedly refused a certain activity, don't rape her. if a woman is not yet a woman, but a child, don't rape her. if your girlfriend or wife is not in the mood, don't rape her. if your step-daughter is watching tv, don't rape her. if you break into a house and find a woman there, don't rape her. if your friend thinks it's okay to rape someone, tell him it's not, and that he's not your friend. if your "friend" tells you he raped someone, report him to the police. if your frat-brother or another guy at the party tells you there's an unconscious woman upstairs and it's your turn, don't rape her, call the police and tell the guy he's a rapist. tell your sons, god-sons, nephews, grandsons, sons of friends it's not okay to rape someone. don't tell your women friends how to be safe and avoid rape. don't imply that she could have avoided it if she'd only done/not done fill-in-the-blank. don't imply that it's in any way her fault. don't let silence imply agreement when someone tells you he "got some" with the drunk girl. don't perpetuate a culture that tells you that you have no control over or responsibility for your actions. You can, too, help yourself. If you agree, repost it. It's that important. <3 Current Mood: sleepyCurrent Music: Law and Order | | Saturday, November 26th, 2005 | | 5:56 pm |
yesterday (black friday) i woke up and went to dadeland mall at 6am with cristina and her sister angie. yes, i was one of THOSE people. we had a blast, found some great deals and i got presents for nearly everyone on my list (not to mention some really great clothes for myself!) i <3 cristina. it's so nice to have a friend that i can talk to about EVERYTHING and not be worried that she'll get upset/be jealous/be a bitch/give me bad advice/turn on me/talk about me behind my back/all the other horrible things supposed 'friends' have done to me. today i got cristina and tony's wedding present, and a hanukkah present for my mentor. i did a bunch of grading today and did my laundry! :) nick will be a chaperone for grad nite with me and cristina and tony. cristina and i are currently devising a good excuse to be put on the same bus (sans my sister)... thanksgiving was nice, but hard. i miss my grandmother. my mother only had 1 major breakdown and i felt like a roller coaster at universal studios all day. my house is crazy now from some recent events and i am seriously considering my dad's suggestion that i buy a piece of property around the area. i need to build equity, officially become a grown-up and move out of this house. i think visits from nick would be a lot more fun if i had my own place. plus, if i found a place that took pets, i could take lucky-who might need a new home soon if nick's dad has anything to say about it (and he does considering it's his house). the only bad thing is that i'd have to stay here for another year, which means nick and i would be apart for another year since he can't request a transfer until next october. i wish i had more of a life and had plans for tonight... go gators <3 Current Mood: accomplished, hungry, lonelyCurrent Music: LET'S GO GATORS!! | | Wednesday, September 28th, 2005 | | 8:03 pm |

| haha i fucking love that song!! yay had a blast this past week, nick's brother and his friend were in town and we went out and drank and danced and had a great time. turns out my boyfriend is an awesome dancer! ;) we slowdanced (as best we could) for the first time friday night when we went out with gary and sarah and their friends. we ended up leaving early because xs was too crazy. gary passed out at nick's and nick took great pics of him. hehe this whole week has gone by so fast. tuesday i start teaching. ahhhh! my grandmother's in the hospital again. she had fainted a couple days ago and they thought it was a food allergy so she went home but ended up in the hospital a few days later with really high sugar and blood pressure levels. she's on insulin now because of the meds she's taking. i call all worried and she's just pissed off that she has to stay in the hospital being waited on by others. she hates being dependent. lol my aunt sent me this list of books students in high school should read. it's great. turns out a couple of those on the list are books i heard about last semester in my RED class that some of my classmates read. that's so funny when things you learn in school actually show up in the real world. am having trivia night tonight, in which my friends come over and eat, drink, and play trivial pursuit 90's edition, and trivial pursuit 20th edition. yay! hehe gary and sarah are on my team since they're on the brainbowl team. nick wrote the prettiest thing for me on his away message. i'll post it later. that guy seriously rocks. i love him so much. :) he makes me happy. i went shopping yesterday with nick (he was so patient) and i found out that i'm now a size 2!!!! i was so happy. i bought a few outfits at express and then we went to plato's closet. nice stuff there, surprisingly. last night nick and i went out for tappenyaki (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm) love yamatos-that restaurant rocks! then we went back to his place and watched the prophecy. it's a pretty good movie, a little weird but definitely a good storyline. it's a trilogy so i'm excited to see the other two movies. ok, time to start setting up for trivia night. everyone i invited better be there!!! ps: my boyfriend rocks more then yours. he's soooooooooooooooo great. thanks baby! iheartyousomuch <3 Current Mood: ecstaticCurrent Music: when did ozzy become an actor? | | Wednesday, January 12th, 2005 | | 2:36 pm |

why do you keep calling me calvin? cause it's stitched all over your underwear.
i'm sick. i can't stop sneezing, my throat and neck and head are KILLING me and i can only breathe out of one nostril. i feel like shit. woke up at 5 to take nick to the airport in tampa. he and chris are in buffalo visiting their mom. came back home and laid in bed all day cuddling with the cat and feeling terrible. had a brief (very brief) convo with my dad where he said to feel better but he and mom were really busy. his sympathy and concern is overwhelming. nick called me around 6 and i totally broke down over the phone. i miss him so much and i just saw him this morning. it sucks even more because i'm sick and don't have anyone to hang out with/take care of me. i ordered chinese food for the soup. i <3 chinese food. my credit card company loves me now. my loan money is still mia. *sigh* i just want it to be monday night so nick's home and by then my 2 week lesson planning should be over and this weekend will be over and i'll feel like being productive again. i feel like shit. :( i'm sick and lonely and hungry and emotional. i hate being menstral. i hate being sick. i hate being lonely. i hate being hungry. this day has been blah. very poopie. <3 Current Mood: sickCurrent Music: charmed-i love this show | | Tuesday, January 4th, 2005 | | 3:59 pm |
dear mom and dad, please send money. i'm so broke that it ain't funny...
so my loan money hasn't come in yet. but my bills have. when o when will my money come?? last night nick, craig, brent, craig's sister crystal, and i all went to chili's for dinner and then to gator city/xs for the night. we had a really good time. crystal and nick both kept getting their asses felt up but it was fun. we all bought crystal beer and shots so she was happy. i love xs when they play good songs. we kept watching different girls get on the pole. there was one girl who was pretty good, we think she might have been an actual stripper. brent, craig, and nick were talking the whole time. sometimes guys are worst then girls with gossip. craig did a pretty good impression of a girl gossiping though. a little too good... yesterday while waiting for nick and craig to get back to gainesville i organized nick's room and closet. i'm so anal sometimes. it looks a lot better though. then nick got here and dumped his stuff everywhere... lucky was sooooooooooooo happy to see us yesterday. she is still purring. hehe she's the greatest kitty. it's so nice to be back in gainesville, living on my own and being able to do what i want without my parents around. not that they were around so much when i was home, but it's nice not to have to tell them what i'm doing and when i think i'll be home. this break was kind of boring for me because none of my friends were around or available. i did get to visit my grandpa's grave though. i haven't done that in a long time. saw my awesome roommates last night. watched a little anchorman with them. i love that movie. they loved the gifts i gave them so i was really happy. brooke is like the hardest person to shop for but she loved the relaxation bath stuff i got her. yay! she got me a gift certificate to express. that store rocks my socks. or my pants. and shirts. hahaha they were having a girls' night with popcorn and marshmellos and wine and stuff. looked like fun. jess and i used to do that...we would order pizza and buy ice cream and popcorn and coke and pig out and talk about our boyfriends and school and family and stuff. we had a blast. i'm kind of sad i don't have a close girl friend anymore. i just don't trust many girls anymore. i can't allow myself to get too close to chicks because i'm so sure they're going to turn out to be bitches. some girls are different. i'm really close to colleen and i don't think she'd ever be a bitch, but i'm 0 for 2 in that area so what the hell do i know? anyway, i am definitely going to spend more time with my roommates this semester, i got so caught up in nick and school towards the end of last semester and totally didn't see them which sucks. once lucky is ok with us sleeping out again i'm going to start sleeping at my place more. i just hate leaving her, especially because we just got back from a 2 1/2 week vacation away from her. if i leave to go to the bathroom she freaks out. my poor baby. i have class tonight 5-8. then i'm done for the week lol i'm really excited to see everyone again. i missed all my friends over break. nick, craig and i had moe's today for lunch. i missed that place. hehe we're like obsessed with that place. i <3 moe's! hehe and nick of course. and my friends and family. :) tonight i think we're going to order pizza and rent some movies. i'm in the mood for a chill night tonight. well, off to watch nick and craig play video games until class time. <3 Current Mood: recumbentCurrent Music: drew carey show | | Sunday, January 2nd, 2005 | | 10:38 pm |
hey mrs. bueller, tell ferris everyone at the station is pulling for him...
*sigh* i had the BEST weekend EVER. seriously, it kicked your weekend's ass. thursday night (much later then i had expected) nick and his dad and chris and alex picked me up at my house. after introductions to my folks and a couple of minutes with small talk, we left. the car ride there was fun, we listened to music on the ipods and the guys quoted lines from back to the future 1-3. the whole ride. apparently, they can do this for hours. we finally get to bob and carol's place and settle in and have some beers. they're really nice people and very funny. they have a beautiful house. after talking for awhile and figuring out sleeping arrangements we went to bed. woke up friday and went to lunch on this place right on the water. so beautiful. then we went on bob's boat. SO MUCH FUN. he drove it really fast so i have bruises everywhere, but so worth it. omg it was amazing. he showed us all these really expensive homes and we just had a great time. got back to their place and i showered while the boys all played football. they got ready and we had stonecrab claws, salad, shrimp, bread, and twice-baked potatoes. amazing dinner!! then bob, carol, nick, nick's dad, chris and i went to a bar to celebrate the new year. after midnight we headed to another bar where we all got wasted. it's fun to see adults drunk. chris said i was a really sweet girl, which totally made my night, and nick's dad said it's obvious how much i care for him. i was totally in 7th heaven. saturday nick's dad and brothers and nick and i drove to key west and strolled down duval street. we had lunch (where chris's order came out wrong 3 times) and saw the sunset festival. it was so fun. nick and i got to watch the sunset together. <3 then we went back to bob and carol's and they took us out to dinner. some drama happened at the restaurant and we ended up leaving and going to another restaurant and plotting the demise of the first one lol. bob's an important guy in marathon key so nobody messes with him and gets away with it. hehe sunday we woke up early and got on the road so the guys could watch the bills game. got back to my house just in time to drop me off and go to a bar. i unpacked and spent some time with my mom. now nick's back in tampa and i can't wait to see him tomorrow. i get to see my kitty tomorrow too!!!!!!!!!!!! well, gotta go, dad has to load the computer into the car. gville, here i come!! <3 Current Mood: rushedCurrent Music: tv in the other room | | Thursday, December 30th, 2004 | | 12:27 am |

let me be the one to give you everything you want and need. baby, good love and protection...
i just spent 2 hours in borders. i bought 16 books. i think i'm crazy. BUT technically i didn't spend anything between my return shakespeare anthology from mom and dad, the gift certificate from aunt michelle and doug, the gift check from aunt shelli, uncle ben and stephanie and my 20% off since i'm a teacher (well...substitute teacher, but they didn't care ;)), plus the $15 check from aunt libby that i deposited yesterday, i actually still have $7 from all that. about $100 for 16 books...pretty good. i think i'm crazy. i got some great books though. wuthering heights, catch 22, jane eyre, leaves of grass, possession, the inferno... i'm going to be very busy the rest of break and next semester. 16 down, about 70 or so to go... had lunch with my grandmother today at this great wrap place, she took me to the mall and bought me 2 sweaters and 4 shirts to wear when i'm teaching (or when i'm going out ;)) and then we hit the library and then my uncle's restaurant but he had left. i'm going back tomorrow to say hi to him, then visiting my grandfather's grave because i haven't done that in a while, then tons of laundry and some packing for the keys!! yaaaaaaaaaaaay :):) mmmm chinese food!! dinnertime!! :) <3 Current Mood: enthralledCurrent Music: make me ur selection, show u the way love's supposed to be | | Monday, December 27th, 2004 | | 12:01 am |

spent the entire day in my pjs. haven't done that in forever. my father calls me a bum, i call it less laundry... watched horrid lifetime movies with mom, spent over an hour trying to occupy the dog while dad changed the lock on the front door. we couldn't let bernie out or he'd run outside, but my dad is hammering away and opening and closing the door and driving the dog crazy. was able to see the first episode of desperate housewives. i am now a fan-great show. not as good as law and order though. introduced mom to the wonders of family guy tonight. she commented on how stupid it was. could hardly understand her through the peals of laughter. love that show to death. am most likely going to meet mom at the store after they close and go to borders with her. beforehand, though, am going to buy myself a present (because i love presents and damn it, i deserve one for getting straight a's!) i'm going to buy the 90's edition of trivial pursuit. we played it last night at my neighbor's house after we had christmas dinner with them and it rocked. seriously, i love that game. sam's friend danielle is staying with us for a few days while her mother is out of town. this girl is supersweet. one of the only girls my sister has been friends with that i've liked from the moment i met her. let's hope it stays that way. it's nice to have someone in the house who thinks i'm cool. shut up. :P have recently reconnected with a couple of my cousins and some old friends. one, whom i went to high school with, is the daughter of my new contact lens place. they've owned it for some time, and they are the offical eye people for the school board of broward county. it's nice to have contacts. ha, pun intended. sometimes i'm so clever i surprise myself. shut up. only 3 days until the keys!! am so very excited i can barely contain myself. nick got an ipod-can't wait to play around with that! ;) still want so many things that were on my hanukkah list. am very impatient, and may end up buying most of them myself, which is no fun. i like presents. i really want love actually. saw it the other day and was so happy. i <3 that movie. also want a ton of books. *sigh* just want to be a millionaire so i can buy the things i want. but then i guess it would be harder for people to buy me gifts for holidays. but if i was a millionaire (if i had a million dollars...) i'd buy everyone else presents and be happy with giving. bet you all wish i won the lottery, huh? ;) well, if i did, i'd buy you a fur coat. but not a real fur coat. that's cruel. <3 Current Mood: hornyCurrent Music: become a rockstar and they give them to you for free! | | Saturday, December 25th, 2004 | | 1:32 am |
